DIY: My Vintage Christmas Table

It is true that Christmas is partying, family, great celebrations and special food. However, at the time of accepting the challenge of Villeroy & Boch and participating in its initiative of Christmas tables (on Instagram #inspiredbyVB) I wanted to set up a more “small”, more different environment … Something thinking about a handmade Christmas, simpler, with fewer resources and maybe, for two people.

Why not … There are many people who spend these dates away from their families, or who simply want to make a different celebration. A more informal meal, but taking care of the details, and combining subtle elements (such as white porcelain pieces), with vintage elements (in our little Christmas corner, the protagonists in the background are a pair of old windows and frames …).

The table has a DIY base (and never better!). And is that the board on which the food rests, is personalized with the same reason as the underplate of the pizza (Provencal Lavender collection, which I think is wonderful). We capture the flowers with photoshop, we print lasers, and then we transfer them to the wood … The result, I do not cheat you, we loved it. In fact, I’m already thinking about new ideas and next Wednesday you can see the steps of how we did it in the blog.

In addition, of the board, we decorate with pineapples (they were painted gold to cover imperfections, and give them festive air), ropes, garlands of bells (another DIY), lights and many, many candles . On the floor (table for two, for example in the most romantic dinner plan) we put a couple of carpets of fake hair (that can be washed) and cushions to be very comfortable …

On a beautiful handmade wooden board from Villeroy & Boch , we place cheeses, grapes … A couple of wine glasses of its delicate glass; Bowls in white porcelain to complete the set and some other element with wooden base, for sauces and snacks . In its original drainer, we arranged the salad, and it was perfect ….

I’m serious … It was a pity to eat it.

With the hashtag #inspiredbyVB you can upload as many photos as you want to Instagram and participate in the draw for a large batch of brand products. The deadline ends on December 6, so I encourage you to hurry, because nothing is missing!

Very good day!
